The year 2012 has been an important turning point of my life as I converted myself from a weight loss desperada to fitness junkie.
Well it didn't just happen over night, but took a long process with subtle changes one at a time. I had been on some sort of diet since college days. That was when I realized I could get a date bacause boy just don't look at chubby girls for a second time. I know this now all sounds silly but I was desparate and didn't know better. throughout later years from the ridiculous "Cabbage Soup Diet" to a bit more sensible "South Beach Diet" to the contraversial 1200 calorie, you name it, my name was attached to it. It's not completely honest if I said "nothing worked" as some did show immediate result, for a few days or weeks but that was all to it. The thing is a diet would only work if you could stick to it for the rest of your life...Who could? I know I can't. :(

It's hard to say when my mind suddenly made a 180 degree turn. I started looking into exercise routines instead of diet meal plans. I guess it was when I started "gaining" weight after a few months of weight training. I couldn't believe I got punished by doing the right thing. Then, per suggestion by numerous articles and online chats, I added cardio to my routine and suddently I found myself deeply in love with running. :)

Things start looking better. My body starts showing more definition and my muscles are more noticeable, and my pants start fitting again. My husband is the first one who saw it. One day he said "You look so athletic now".

I still try to eat very clean by eliminating processed foods from my diet and still run on every Saturday. I no longer stare at the scale and cry my eyes out over any OZ I "gained". People including my co-workers start saying things about how fit I look now. Of course, I am still not that skinny super model I dream to be someday, but do I care?

Tomorrow will be my first signed up barre class with our local Pure Barre studio. I am so looking forward to it.

我非常赞同你。一个是我是好吃客,从来舍不得为了体重忌嘴。另一个我觉得diet下来体重轻了,可身上还是松的。。。所以还是锻炼为主吧,当然我尽量晚上少吃哈。:) 周日跑了一点点,希望能坚持吧。。。

苗条是个老幼皆关心的问题。 我要说某个东西吃了, 皮肤变漂亮, 我的两姑娘就使劲的吃 :-) 我要说某个东西吃了, 会长胖, 变丑。 她们就尽量不吃了, 哈哈。
不过, 小孩就是小孩, 一会儿就忘了。

lily, 虽然说锻炼是健康的主要手段, 可是吃也很重要, 尤其是以减肥为目标的, 吃的科比锻炼主要多了。
大姐, 主要是要培养孩子的健康生活习惯。 好的习惯养成了, 想胖也难, 除非少见的那种大胖子基因啊。
给小孩讲道理比较费劲的说。 讲漂亮要容易多了, 哈哈。 不吃蔬菜, 很头疼。 我就使劲往healthy, smart, 漂亮,皮肤好,苗条上引导。不过, 我说的也没错 :-)

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my
