Fit and Flare

Pear Shape Wardrobe Staple #1: a Fit and Flare dress.

So yesterday I decided to take a slightly different approach to continue writing this blog. I wanted to share with those who have similar body type as mine and who equally confused with what we should wear to show off the best while camouflaging the "not so good" features.

Fit and flare means fitted on top but puffy on bottom. You can take a look at vintage dresses from 1950s for reference. The shape accenturates the tiny waist and ultra feminine shoulders but totally covers up the hips and thighs. It creates an illution of lean and demure figure. :)

I recently bought this jersey dress from Madewell, which was bought by my favorite retail store J.crew a few years back. As I always thought unlike J.crew, Madewell is more gearing towards young and cool european influenced crowd, I have been staying away until....:)

It is made of a thick jersey knit and stretches quite well. Pears can totally go one size down. :)

Very pretty. Like your outfitters, the colors and the prints. By the way ,the white elephant is really cute. --- hetun.
